la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la means ...

i LOVE YOOOOOOOOU!!!!! =)

well well well ...

I still haven't outgrown this Xanga thing.  I thought my next blog would be written on my own website (http://wiyum.org) which still has nothing there til this day, except the cute li'l banner that mikewong (http://hapahaus.com) made me for it.  at some point i took html courses, and learned to embed urls into the things i write.  meaning i could type "mikewong" and make it hot so when you click on it it could go anywhere, i.e. hapahaus.com. or wherever.  let your imagination run wild on that one.

i figured since my xanga links to other website agglomerators, and that this li'l post might end up in more than one place, it would be the easiest way to let folks know a few things goin' on with "big will."

number 1 ...

no one calls me big will in los angeles.  no one asks me to play bob marley either.  i don't even get calls from listeners who want to openly gay bash me on the air live while requesting a song.  and no, there is not a reality show here in la waiting for a big gay black guy to star.  that was real world seattle ... i think.

number 2 ...

hollywood reminds me of the haight before it got gentrified.  montebello?  i'd say the mission before it was gentrified -- the dolores heights part of it.  alhambra sings clement street to me and monterey park sings taraval.  or stockton even ... almost.  minus monterey park, which was where i waited for the bus each morning for three months, i've graced every other "city" in this paragraph.  hollywood isn't a city though; it's part of los angeles.   i've been bumping around like a rolling stone, too cheap to put down a deposit on my own studio, and shacking up with just about any boy that'll have me, hence my grand l.a. tour.  i don't mean dirty shacking up.  i mean loan me your couch or let me rent your back room shacking up.

number 3 ...

full time employment sucks.  i love my job.  but being tied to a desk all day ... sucks.  my desk just so happens to be at the largest public transit provider in the state of california (http://metro.net).  and no, i can't embed that url, even if my life depended on it.

number 4 ...

i'm done with that cute "number" thing.  my mild adhd won't allow me to stay on topic that long to create a coherent list.

but this short entry does do a lot for folks.  it shows, for one, i haven't lost that great sense of humor that i have.

<insert courtesy laugh here>

it also shows that i'm breathing, i'm well, and i might just continue blogging here.  or not.

it means you'll be able to find out where i'll be if you keep watching this space.

i do want to let you know that only one part of the plan i've embarked upon is solid right now:  the job.  (just passed probation monday.  yay!)

the other elements of my socal move include completing school (classes begin sept 4), finding a studio (that's right, willy's own castle!), reflecting upon whether i drink too much or eat too much meat, and possibly, just possibly a new slough of buddies i can hang out with in the southland.  i've also cut back on the san francisco trips.  i continue that trend by embarking on a new york trip next week for a family reunion, and to celebrate my 28th birthday (saturn returns this year.  i'm still trying to figure that one out).

so ... uh ... hopefully, this reaches people in good health and good spirits.  i am very easy to track down online, so if you find this dispatch, please send a reply to let me know you found it, and to confirm i still have your phone number, your birthday (those are important), a functional email, and your address of course so i can drop by when i'm in town and send you all those christmas cards i've missed out on over the years.

love,

will =)

p.s.  if you know anyone subletting their studio, timeshare, or a liveable place (for 4 hot gay boys) =p in manhattan 8/30-9/4, holla at big will (aka me).  i have a room booked, but it'd be nice not to be in some stuffy hotel. we'll put some green (that would be cash) on it.  later!

the end of an era ...

the end of an era ...

my radio "career" has come to an end for now.  tonight (thxgiving) will be my last night on the air (at 10pm), even though i told listeners that this past monday night was my last night on the air.  what's funny abt all of this, is that no one even cares!  except me.  you might care now that you're reading my blog.

you might also care when i decide to upload all this audio to my website:  http://wiyum.org/audio

until then, you'll just have to hang tight.

also ... my career as a bay area resident is also coming to an end.  i'm a bit tentative in writing this, because i always fear that big decisions like these fall through when you put ink (or the virtual ink the pixels are putting) to it.  i might have to relaunch this blog thing ... http://blog.wiyum.org ... rather than xanga.  oooooh.  the possibilities.

i must say that change is very scary.  i've been a bit paralyzed over the past three months, when it became evident that some kind of change was going to happen.  i've cried.  i've enraged. (is that a word?)  i've purged.  i've binged.  i've purged again.  (i promise i'm not bulimic ... and nothing against them either!)

i'm not quite sure what i'm saying here.  check in with me in a few weeks.

happy thanks-taking ... thanksgiving ... or whatnot. = |

Happy Labor Day!

Props to those who worked for us to have a day off.  Props to all the celebrating virgos (I am one of 'em)!!  Props to the folks kickin' it at Art and Soul in Oakland.  Props to 24-hour BART service.  Why can't we have it every day?!  Ok ... I'll cover that in my next entry =p

stop thief ... part deux!

so i was at work late again.  i can't prove it was a stoner this time.  but my bike seat is now gone, stolen from its frame that was secured to the kpfa bike rack with a kryptonite lock.  too bad i didn't utilize the seat cable that time.  add to that a summer session algebra class that i'm beyond "over" and the fact that i'm moving yet again ... august 1.  someone steal my drama why don't you!
